Whatever your interests you will find so much to do and see across the island!
What's On and Events on the Isle of Wight is the website to search across the island and see what is happening.
Below are a few of our favourite annual events
The Isle of Wight Walking Festival is one of the UK’s longest running walking festivals and it remains one of its biggest. Participants can follow in the footsteps of everyone from Alfred Lord Tennyson to Jimi Hendrix; on the trail of everything from dinosaurs to the prefect dawn chorus; and heading everywhere from Queen Victoria’s Osborne House to a non-stop walk around the entire 72-miles coastal path in 24 hours.
All the walks are led by volunteers, many from the local Ramblers group. All are experienced walkers with a great deal of knowledge about the Island and its stunning landscape and scenery.
Explore the Island's stunning natural beauty with like-minded walkers in this two-week festival of fun, which runs in the Spring and the Autumn.
The Isle of Wight Festival began with a series of Festivals between 1968 and 1970, widely acknowledged as Europe’s equivalent of Woodstock. In 1970, a line up over 5 days included (amongst others) Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Doors, Joni Mitchell, Supertramp, Leonard Cohen, Joan Baez, Chicago, Procol Harum and played to over 600,000 people.
Since 2002, The Isle of Wight Festival stages have hosted bands such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, Muse, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Kasabian, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Coldplay, The Sex Pistols, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, Blondie and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. In addition, we have had the pleasure of stand-out solo performances with David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Jay-Z and Amy Winehouse gracing the Main Stage.
Festival-goers travel from across the UK to attend, so rather than camp expensively, stay in comfort at Clarence House and visit all or any days!
The Round the Island Race takes place every year, and is quite the sight to see! Take to the beach and watch as hundreds of yachts compete to make their way around the entirety of the Isle of Wight.
The Ventnor Fringe is a modern pilgrimage for artists of all creative disciplines. Started by a team of teenagers in 2010 as the Isle of Wight's answer to the world famous Edinburgh Fringe, it hasn't look back since, and now takes place each July / August over eight days in locations encompassing the entire town.
Without a doubt the very best week of the year in Ventnor
The legendary Garlic Festival celebrates food in all it's forms- though mostly those cooked with garlic. Come along to try garlic beer and garlic ice cream, or maybe be crowned the Garlic Queen!
